Georgia Caribbean Association TimberLot™ Program

Dickey Seed International has established the Georgia Caribbean Association TimberLot™ Program for investors to gain exposure to plantation timber. Through the GCA TimberLot Program investors enter into a “Ply Log Production Agreement” (a contract between DSI and the investor). The Agreement states that DSI will purchase 100% of the producer’s timber at market price once it reaches harvestable maturity in 8 to 10 years.

Investment costs for the investor plantations include that of leasehold purchases on production land, Paulownia tree plantlets, input supplies, machine hire and management services. All these items and services can through contractual agreement and/or purchases from or with the various member companies of the Georgia Caribbean Association. These GCA member Companies serve in the capacity of vendors for GCA TimberLot owner/investors.

The GCA TimberLot Program offers many distinct advantages.

1. Investors gain pure exposure to the real and true timber market, whereas investing in “timberland” injects the added risks and volatility normally associated with the real estate market.
2. A direct hedge against inflation. For example, if construction costs increase, investors will benefit by an increase in timber prices.
3. A negative-to-low correlation to other investments.
4. Plantation timber investors are not depending solely on price appreciation. Timber growing investors are adding value daily through the natural growth of their trees and the correlating daily increase in saleable product (wood).
5. The distinct satisfaction of knowing that the TimberLot plantation activity reduces atmospheric Carbon Dioxide levels at a faster rate than most any other man- induced method known.
