Our Management![]() John B. “Jack” Dickey, PresidentJack began his agriculture career in 1963 and later became one of Georgia’s leading agriculturists. He founded Dickey Seed Company in 1969. Dickey Seed later became the largest producer, processor and marketer of certified soybean seed in the Southeastern United States. In 1992, Jack bought a major interest in Guyana Timber Sales, a company joint ventured with Guyana’s Plywood Industries, Ltd. The purpose of the venture was for the harvesting, milling and marketing of wood and wood products from a company-acquired, 95,000-acre timber tract along the Berbice River in Guyana. In 1993, Jack began a woodworking division of Dickey Seed Company named Georgia Caribbean International. With Georgia Caribbean International, he began purchasing Spanish Cedar and Mahogany in Northern Belize. In 1999, Jack began converting Dickey Seed Company into an international, agro-forestry company. In 2000, Jack under the banner of Dickey Seed, facilitated the first commercial manufacturing in the free world of plywood made from Paulownia. He has been a featured speaker on topics such as contract production and seed propagation. Jack has been President of both the Georgia Crop Improvement Association (Georgia’s official seed certification agency) and the Georgia Seedsmen Association. He has been Chairman of USDA’s Floyd County division of Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. While President of Foundation Seeds Incorporated, and serving on the Georgia Seed Development Commission, Dickey was instrumental in the propagation and introduction of the revolutionary alfalfa variety named “AlfaGraze”. This cultivar was the first alfalfa legume of which could be produced for both haying and grazing. Jack is currently President of Tropical Paulownia Tree Farms, Ltd., President of Georgia Caribbean International, Ltd., Vice President of Berbice River Agro Forestry, Inc., and co-founder of Ameri-Tree Advisors, LLC. Jack received his Associate in Engineering Degree from Southern Technical Institute where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and minored in Industrial Management.
John Wiggins, Chief Financial OfficerMr. Wiggins began his agriculture career with Dickey Seed Company in 1970. As Plant Manager and later General Manager, he helped expand the Company to being the largest provider of certified soybean seed in the Southeastern United States. John is now Vice President and serves on the Board of Directors for Dickey Seed International, Inc. John is also a co-founder of Ameri-Tree Advisors, LLC. He received an Associates of Science degree in Civil Engineering and minored in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Technical Institute and a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Management from Shorter College. |
